Nothing makes Dr. Chan happier than receiving gratitude from a patient in Rowlett after he’s able to address their dental concerns, whether this involves getting them out of pain or restoring their smile. He also loves it when people tell him that he offers the most comfortable dentistry they’ve ever experienced, and he hopes you have this same feeling after you decide to partner with him!
Why Did You Decide to Become a Dentist?
Dr. Chan was introduced to the medical field as a child because he has several relatives who are part of it! What ultimately drew his attention to dentistry was that his cousin got into dental school in Australia and told him about all the wonderful aspects of it, such as getting to combine science and art (which Dr. Chan loves). He went on to assist in a dental office, and he immediately fell in love with the profession.
Where Did You Study Dentistry?
Dr. Chan began his college career at McMaster University and earned his dental degree from Case Western Reserve University. He is now Invisalign certified as well as an active member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He also holds Fellowship status in both the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the International Dental Implant Association.
Outside of the Dental Office, What Do You Like to Do?
Born in Hong Kong but primarily raised in Toronto, Dr. Chan met his wife while in dental school, and they now have two very active boys. He was very involved in Taekwondo as a student, and he still tries to go to the gym every day and cycles often (he’s part of multiple local road cycling groups). He also considers himself a foodie and loves to sample authentic cuisine from different countries.
